The Following T-shirts may or may not have been disposed of after this photo shoot. My sisters noticed a look of distress on my face as I looked at my construction orange bins of clothing and they knew what it meant. She's getting rid of stuff again and by the looks of it, it's not going to be pretty.
Apparently, every now and again, the sudden urge swells upon me and I want to get rid of everything I own because I'm sick of stuff. And then I go through it and I want to cry because I can't. This is sentimental and that could be useful under ridiculously specific circumstances.
Why in the world do I NEED any of this. I am enchanted with the whole tiny houses movement and I love looking at hobbit hole construction kits and super cheap and small ways to live, maybe even off- grid. But then, I've got this dang stuff to deal with. It's not that I even own very much, but sometimes I get the itch and I become overwhelmed by it. So what's a girl to do?
Well, first things first, get inspired by good sisters who know.
Sister: How about you take pictures of you in all of those t-shirts and then blog about it.
Me: (internally: I hate blogging, writing, journal-ing and all related activities) I don't want to.
Sister: This will be fun. Put a shirt on.
Me: (grudgingly) okay
Then, the following happened.
**These pictures were taken about 7 months ago--July 4th, 2015**
The bin of t-shirts I've collected since elementary school. Dag gum.
Gotten while working early morning custodial from the secretaries of the dean's office who were giving them away. Secretly, I really wanted to be every major possible and especially in engineering so I signed up for the SWE emails and still get them from time to time. It's kind of like living vicariously. Anyway, wearing this shirt brought mixed feelings: I was cool for being connected with the college of engineering but felt like a cad because I wasn't really. The result: it became a seldom sleep shirt.
One of my favorite T-shirt's I'd wear at KMHS because I had to work so hard giving blood that time. I almost passed out like 15 times that day I gave it. I felt I'd really earned this one. Plus, it's simple and it dons a catchy pun I can't resist, "We all have the power to heal, it's in our blood."
Please note the hard earned purple armpits from color festival. Again, had to donate a piece of me for it.
Also, fairly catchy.
Girls' Camp! 2009-- Good memories of pirating and swash-buckling. It was the one and only girls camp in North Carolina where I tried really hard to get out of my bubble and reach out and meet other girls. They even gave me the Joan of Ark award that year, which adds special points out the wazoo for me.
EFY--Steady and Sure--2008
EFY--Power in Purity; 2007
EFY--The Greatest Gift; 2006
The Amazing Race event put on by BYUSA. Very enjoyable experience of running around with random people.
Ran a 5k to earn this baby!
And so cute--but I've ruined the armpits. Dag gum.
Started a Club at BYU with the very lovely Megan and Kami called Y Not? Dedicated to accomplishing bucketlist/ wishlist items. Did Acroyoga, snowshoeing, and validation booth-ing.
Put on by the BYU Women's Center where Stephanie Neilson (mother burned all over her body in a plane accident fire) spoke to us about a new definition of beauty. It was fun seeing ladies and gentlemen all over campus where the different colored shirts every now and then.
Sweet awesome shirt bought with a gift card that annoyed me because of texture for some reason. Hardly worn.
Tie died this beuty at Lindsey Pate's 22nd Birthday party. Thanks to a friend of hers who was a master tie-dyer, my actually looks pretty great.
Classic. Not sure how I got this, but I usually feel huge when I wear it and my neck feels a bit constrained. Wow, I really am a texture person.
Also, wonderful, but faded so quickly--probably because I wore it so much.
Our family trip to Nauvoo back when we lived in North Carolina (or GA) I can't remember. I loved spending time with the Keiffers and meeting a cute boy who we flirted a bit with each other, saw each other at BYU a couple times, and now he's married. It was fun while it lasted.
Camp K T-shirt; thought it was ghastly, but wore it a lot at camp.
Same story--had to wear it on Mondays with Khaki pants/ shorts. Blah.
Some random event on campus. It was so soft and so static-y. Blah.
Gettin' tired of these shenanigans.
Recreation Management Project where we helped out a girl (Chelsea--now also married) doing her internship at the Pleasant Grove Recreation Center arrange the Hershey's Track and Field Competition.
Provo Countdown with Travis Nilsson soon after he got off his mission and his mom moved to Provo
A bit of hair swishing requested by the photographer (I have since removed a few other such pictures because there were many)
Volunteered at the Republican call center calling people about their opinions on the republican runners in the primarys.
That's fairly recent, but I don't remember what for. I volunteered but that's all I remember.
Gotten while a BYUSA member in public affairs and worked on making their website better.
Volunteered at BYU's POW-WOW and helped with the computer merit-badge. Why they had me help out with that, I'll never know. It was fun all the same.
Ew. True blue tuesdays. I dispised being put in charge of that because I didn't beleive in the cause. I tried to have a positive attitude about it. Succeeded, but after much struggle. I said there would be more hair swishing.
Love Astrofest! Familes and students come for: Launching mini paper rockets/ paper airplanes/ physics demos/ pizza/ astronomy demonstrations/ mechanical engineering demonstrations. It's the best.
Last musical I performed in during High School (and so far, since then); Wonderful/ trying times-- had little kids do the wave/ was Mrs. Who/ punched my husband/ had a son/ received a really nice complement from a really nice person and gave a really nice complement to a great guy at senior night (Bryan/ Daniel Woo); called a sexy looking teacher Mrs. Who; loved the music and doing a duet with Steven
Last musical performed while at NGHS; fun dancing and music
Surprisingly fun to be a crazed girl chasing an elvis-like star; stood up for not participating in the orgy scene; loved dancing with my partners; I've always enjoyed practicing the music for musicals
Ashley Ray and I got extra credit for our designs on the AP US History t-shirts from the Mrs. McKay; she did the cute scroll and Bill of No Rights on the back and I did the APUSH on the front.
Just a cute NGHS pride shirt.
My attempt at organized sports; tried being in the neighborhood swim team one summer and learned a lot but was terrible; the worst swimmer on the team and one of the older ones.
Elementary Honor Chorus Shirt from 4th Grade (mom said to get the bigger size because I'd grow into it) It's been a great sleep shirt and is now very worn.
This shirt has lots of signature I don't recognize, but it also had Jimmer Freddette's signature on it (before he was terribly well known at BYU). Volunteered to help out at Sports Hero Day. That was fun--with Andrea (now McVey and she works at Timpview too, as a math teacher)
The end.
